Architecture Website Design Inspiration

Your next big client will likely meet you online first. So, what will they see? Obviously you know you need an impressive, visually impactful portfolio. But, this is often your first chance to make a lasting impression on clients. A strong architecture website design should reflect the same attention to detail, creativity, and vision that you bring to your built work.

But, what makes an architecture website truly stand out? In this article, the KIJO team explores four exceptional examples of architect web design. Plus, we break down the key ingredients that make an architectural site effective.

KIJO’s Selection of the Best Architecture Websites

We asked our Senior UX/UI Design Expert, Danny Findon-Kent, to handpick four inspiring architecture website designs from around the world. Each of these examples showcases how thoughtful design can promote an architectural practice online.

1. OH Architecture

This is OH Architecture's homepage. It features an expansive, full-screen image of a recent project titled 'Myrtle Pool House' which is a modern, flat roof pool house with sleek, bi-fold doors and cosy furniture over looking a plush, green lawn on a sunny day. It reads: "The OH Architecture style is defined by strong, solid forms with subtle elegance, nnatural balance and enduring appeal" in the bottom left corner.

Location: Brisbane, Australia

OH Architecture offers a bold visual hierarchy with spacious layouts and project-focused imagery. It delivers clarity and elegance which befits this high-end design firm.

OH Architecture uses scale brilliantly. The wide white space lets each project breathe, exuding confidence and sophistication.

2. Saisei – Sustainable Studio

A dark, moody architecture web design with a bold, half-screen high logo: SAISEI. To the right, it reads in smaller text: "Meaning to "rebirth" or "regeneration," reflecting a commitment to sustainable and regenerative design practices, aiming to redefine urban environments." The expansive full-page image behind this text is of a super low-lit modern living room which you can't quite see - but want to!

Location: Tokyo, Japan

Saisei hosts an immersive interface with smooth GSAP animations. Its refined typography creates a modern, culturally mindful atmosphere.

Saisei’s architecture website design balances sustainability with style. Its subtle motion and calming visuals tell a story as intentional as their architectural philosophy.

3. Yurdaer Mimarlik

Yurdaer Mimarlik homepage above the fold is just an enormous, full-screen image of a light-wood property in amongst trees against a purpley sky surrounded by wild flowers and shrubs. The windows are all floor to ceiling. The text, which makes up the bottom half of the screen reads: "Architecture Redefined".

Location: Istanbul, Turkey

Danny loved this minimalist grid-based layout and high-impact project visuals that reflect a disciplined, design-first Turkish studio ethos.

There’s nowhere to hide on Yurdaer Mimarlik’s site; the crisp grid and stunning photography speak louder than words.

4. Andrea Diego (Bilbao)

ANDREA DIEGO's name in light grey runs through the middle of the screen. The back drop is a full-screen image, zoomed-in on a chair in a living area on a cream rug. It feels modern, almost Scandinavian in style. This is a very immersive architecture website design.

Location: Bilbao, Spain

This site offers a refined, multi-sensory aesthetic with rich background image, subtle micro-interactions, and poetic minimalism that embodies bespoke interior artistry.

Andrea Diego’s site feels like stepping into one of their spaces – immersive, elegant, and deeply personal.

How to Create an Architecture Website

Designing an architecture website is about far more than uploading project photos and listing your services. You should focus on telling your story through thoughtful visuals, structure, and performance; every element should speak to your practice’s style and values.

Here are the essential ingredients every top-tier architecture website should include:

1. Strong Visual Hierarchy

As you know, great architecture is about proportion, scale, and flow. Your website should reflect this. Use clear headings, generous spacing, and striking project imagery to guide visitors through your work naturally.

2. High-Quality Imagery

On Yurdaer Mimarlik's site, as you scroll through, you'll suddenly find just one large image from a project that takes up the entire page. This is an indoor, modern basketball court being used by small children that has been architecturally designed by the firm.

Photos are your strongest asset. So, use professional, high-resolution images that showcase your projects in the best possible light. Complement them with videos, interactive sliders, or project walkthroughs where possible.

3. Fast, Smooth Performance

Brilliant architects appreciate seamless detail and clients want to work with an architect who knows that! Therefore, your site should load fast and interact smoothly across all devices. Avoid bloated plugins and unoptimised media and images. Subtle animations or parallax effects can elevate the experience when done well.

4. Easy Navigation

Potential clients, partners, and press should be able to find your projects, contact details, and practice info within seconds. So, keep menus clear, uncluttered, and logically structured.

5. Reflect Your Brand Identity

Whether your practice is minimalist, playful, heritage-focused, or avant-garde, your website should embody that identity through typography, colour palette, and layout choices.

6. Calls to Action

OH Architecture's CTA at the bottom of their page against a white background, with large black text in all caps reads: "FOCUSED ON QUALITY
DRIVEN BY CREATIVITY."
Then, the button reads "tell us about your project"
Beneath this is a navigation menu in their footer which also includes a project image. Then, there is an acknowledgement that reads: "We respectfully acknowledge the Turrbal people, the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Country on which we work. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and acknowledge their continuing connection to land, sea and community." Then, beneath this is their contact information and a logo which states OH Architecture is a member of the Australian Institute of Architects.

Encourage visitors to connect with Calls to Action (CTAs). Think prominent contact forms, newsletter sign-ups, or clear links to social media profiles; these help turn browsers into leads and actual clients.

How Much Does it Cost to Build a Website?

The scope of a website can vary enormously. It depends on a number of factors; how many pages, special features required etc. After a complimentary 30-minute consultation call with Kirk Thompson, KIJO’s Head of Partnerships, the KIJO team will be able to produce a proposal for your architect web design project that will include costs.

Do Architects Need a Website?

Another screenshot from Andrea Diego's website which features one main image on the left and then two complimentary images in squares on the right that move as you scroll over a dark background. These images are all from the same project and feature a slim woman with long brown hair in a white dress experiencing an Andrea Diego designed home.

Absolutely. Whether you’re an established firm or an independent architect, a website is your most valuable marketing tool (more so than social media!)

A well-crafted site showcases your projects to clients, attracts press attention, and opens doors to new collaborations. In a sector where reputation and visual impact matter deeply, an outstanding online presence can be the difference between winning a dream project or losing it to a competitor.

Unlike social channels and platforms, your architect web design is fully in your control. A website enables you to present your practice exactly how you want to be seen. There’s no distractions, no algorithm, and no compromise on design standards.

Take Inspiration From the Best in Architecture Website Design
