We’re based in Grosvenor House on St Pauls Square in Birmingham city centre (B3 1RB). We work with clients both in person at the studio and over Zoom. Let us know what works best for you.
Yes, we work with businesses across the West Midlands, the UK and internationally. While we’re based in Birmingham, location isn’t a barrier. We’ve built websites for clients in London, the US, and across Europe. If you’re outside Birmingham but want to work with an agency that understands your market, get in touch.
A web design agency has a team of specialists: designers, developers, project managers. So your project gets multiple perspectives and accountability. A freelancer is usually one person doing everything, which can be faster and cheaper but means less expertise across different areas and no backup if they’re busy. Agencies also handle the full cycle: strategy, design, development, testing and optimisation. Freelancers often specialise in one area.
Look for an agency with a portfolio that matches your industry, check their reviews and case studies for results, not just pretty designs, and make sure they explain their process clearly. Ask whether they do design and development in-house or outsource. Find out what happens after launch. Do they offer maintenance and support? Finally, trust your gut on communication. You’ll be working closely with them, so choose someone who listens and answers your questions straightforwardly.
A typical website takes 8 to 12 weeks from discovery to launch, depending on size and complexity. The timeline depends partly on you. If you get us content and feedback on time, we move faster. Larger projects with custom features or eCommerce functionality can take longer. We’ll give you a detailed timeline after the initial consultation.
Every website we build is optimised for SEO from day one. We handle on-page SEO, technical setup, and performance optimisation as standard. If you want ongoing SEO strategy and content marketing to drive more organic traffic after launch, we offer that through our KIJO Optimise retainer service.
