How We Launched Your Home Hub as the UK's Free Property Platform

Your Home Hub came to us with a simple idea: give homeowners a genuinely free way to sell their property without estate agent fees, commissions or long-term contracts.

The challenge was making that idea feel credible. Property is a category where trust matters, and most homeowners are used to dealing with established portals and estate agents. Your Home Hub needed to feel like a serious alternative from the first interaction, while also making the process of selling a home without an agent feel straightforward.

We worked across the brand, website, product experience, development, SEO and launch materials to create a platform that could support sellers, buyers and commercial partners from day one.

Project Objectives
The project needed to:

  • Position Your Home Hub as a credible alternative to traditional property platforms
  • Make selling a property without an agent feel simple and achievable
  • Create a clear and intuitive experience for buyers
  • Build separate journeys for sellers, buyers and commercial partners
  • Create a strong visual identity that could compete with established brands
  • Build the technical foundations for future growth
  • Give the platform a strong SEO structure from launch

Building Trust in a New Property Platform

With no existing brand equity to rely on, the identity needed to establish trust from the first interaction.

We created a visual direction that feels modern and approachable, while still giving Your Home Hub the authority expected from a property brand. The core palette combines turquoise with a deep green, supported by warmer neutrals and softer pastel tones.

The green gives the brand a sense of confidence and stability, while the turquoise adds something fresher and more distinctive. Typography is clean and easy to read, with generous spacing used throughout the interface rather than the dense layouts often seen across property websites.

Photography follows the same approach, focusing on bright, contemporary British homes that feel lived in and aspirational without looking overly staged.

The logo brings the proposition together with a rounded house mark held within an open hand. It reflects the idea behind the platform: putting your home back in your hands.

We carried the identity beyond the website too, creating For Sale boards, business cards, advertiser leaflets, keyrings and event tote bags to give the brand a consistent presence across every touchpoint.

For Buyers

For buyers, familiarity was important.

The search experience uses patterns people already understand, including filters, grid and map views and saved properties. We then introduced features that give buyers more control over how they search.

The draw-on-map function allows buyers to create their own search area rather than relying on a postcode radius or predefined boundary. This is particularly useful for anyone searching around a specific school, commute route or neighbourhood.

Property pages combine large photography with key property information, mortgage calculator tools and a direct way to contact the seller.

The experience was designed responsively from the start, ensuring buyers can browse, save and enquire whether they are searching on a desktop, tablet or mobile.

For Sellers

The seller journey is at the centre of the platform.

Selling a home without an estate agent can feel like a lot to take on, particularly for someone doing it for the first time. We designed the experience to break the process down into smaller, manageable steps and provide support along the way.

The listing journey is built around eight stages, covering listing details, property details, features, photos, documents and final review. Rather than opening with a long form, the experience starts with an image-led introduction before asking users to create an account.

Helper content and links to the Guides library provide additional information when sellers need it, without taking them away from the task.

The photo stage was designed around how people actually use the platform. Sellers can upload images directly from their phone and continue the process elsewhere without having to start again.

Once everything is complete, a dedicated success screen confirms that the listing is live and explains what happens next.

The result is a seller journey designed to give people the confidence to manage the process themselves, without feeling like they are missing the support they would normally get from an estate agent.

Content & SEO

The Guides library was created to support both the user experience and the wider SEO strategy.

There is strong search intent around questions such as how to sell a house without an estate agent, what is involved in selling privately and what sellers need to prepare. The Guides library gives Your Home Hub a way to answer those questions while introducing potential sellers to the platform.

The guides are also integrated into the seller journey, giving users useful information at the point they need it rather than sending them away to search elsewhere.

The wider site architecture is built around three core audiences: Buy, Sell and Advertise. Each has its own content structure and internal linking strategy.

The Buy journey focuses on local property searches, including town and postcode-level intent, while Sell pages address the questions and concerns of people considering selling privately.

Schema markup was implemented across property listings, guides and organisation pages, while technical SEO requirements including clean URLs, XML sitemaps, mobile optimisation and Core Web Vitals were considered throughout development.

For Commercial Partners

Your Home Hub is not just a platform for buyers and sellers. Commercial partners are an important part of the wider proposition, with mortgage advisors, conveyancers, surveyors and other businesses able to connect with homeowners through the platform.

We created a dedicated journey for this audience, giving businesses a clear route into the platform without getting in the way of the core buyer and seller experiences.

The brand was carried through into the materials used to support these relationships, including advertiser leaflets, business cards, keyrings and event materials.

The platform also includes dedicated commercial partner accounts, with their own dashboards, permissions and notifications. This creates a more structured experience for businesses while giving Your Home Hub the foundations to manage and grow its partner network.

The Technology

Underneath the experience is a headless WordPress setup with a custom React front end.

This gives the Your Home Hub team the familiarity of WordPress for managing content, while allowing more complex product areas such as property search, accounts and listing creation to work as custom experiences.

Property data is managed through a bespoke content structure alongside a custom listing management system for sellers.

The draw-on-map feature uses Google Maps with a custom polygon layer, allowing the area drawn by a buyer to be converted into a geographical search against the property database.

The platform supports three distinct user types: sellers, buyers and commercial partners. Each has its own dashboard, permissions and notification system, while a moderation queue allows the Your Home Hub team to review listings before they go live.

Performance was also considered throughout the build, with image optimisation, code splitting, caching and prerendering used to keep the experience fast across devices.

The Results

Your Home Hub launched as a complete property platform rather than simply another property website.

The project brought together a new brand, three distinct user journeys and a bespoke digital platform designed around the needs of buyers, sellers and commercial partners.

For sellers, the platform makes it possible to take a property from initial listing through to publication without relying on an estate agent. For buyers, it provides a familiar property search experience with more flexible tools, including the ability to draw their own search area. For commercial partners, it creates a dedicated route into a growing property audience.

Behind all three is a technical foundation built to support the platform as it develops, with custom property management, user dashboards, moderation, map-based search and a flexible WordPress and React architecture.

The wider brand carries the same experience across the website, content, For Sale boards and commercial materials, giving Your Home Hub a consistent identity wherever customers encounter it.
